Pale Moon (2014)
Directed by: Daihachi Yoshida
Screenplay by: Kaeko Hayafune
Based on novel by: Mitsuyo Kakuta
-Drama, Japan

Starring:

Sôsuke Ikematsu as Sôsuke Ikematsu

My rating: 5

Per imdb:
A mellow drama following the moral decline of a housewife turned bank employee who embezzles a fortune from her customers and indulges in an affair with a younger man. Set in 1994, shortly after the burst of Japan's economic bubble.

PeekInside:

My two-bits:

I liked how this story focused on aspects of women and their career track in finance, specifically in banking. Got a sense of how stagnant things could get.

Loved how the main character had good intentions and heart. Her spirit and drive propelled her to move into something more.

Based on novel:

=====> I would love to read a translation of this. Interesting to note that (for me) the cover does not really depict the story - too flowery.

* made me want to visit country? Tokyo, Japan - oh yeah

Most scenes included the subway, walking around downtown and residential locations. Also, a drive along the coast to a luxury hotel.
